When new clients first arrive, I often explain to them that I am not a sports massage therapist and don’t want to grow up to be one. Traditionally many massage therapists work quite deeply when resolving aches and pains in your body. Especially those who rectify and remediate aches and pains, injuries, and issues, like sports massage therapists.

As a result, clients just like you, have often come to expect that pain, sometimes a great deal of pain, is needed to resolve these issues.

At BlossomingMe, we have found, that working with your body, rather than fighting with it, and keeping your body relaxed, helps the changes that do happen through your treatment, to stay longer.

Recently we’ve been focusing on the “No pain, no gain” myth.

I would like to debunk this myth!

Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) stretching is a great example of this myth in action.

So in this video, I cover:

  • What is Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) stretching?
    • (You may also know this type of stretch as Muscle Energy Technique it is a very similar style of stretching.)
  • How does it demonstrate the myth of “No pain, no gain”?
  • 3 Tips for effective Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) stretching.
